Kickers, Movers and Shakers…

We are already in week 7 of the S15 competition and there are quite a few kickers that has put down the gauntlet of kicking.

In sport you need to have CONSISTENCY as a core skill to keep top notch performance throughout the  games, week in and week out. If you look at some of the top sport people around the word, in the likes of Roger Fedderer, Michael Schumacher, Tiger Woods, Lionel Messi and Michael Jordan just to name a few – CONSISTENCY in performance were imperative to their success! . These athletes perform week in and week out, win games for their teams, they always get noticed as an individual although competing in a team context – they get noticed by the public and commentators because of their ability to remain CONSISTENT in their professional careers.

With Rugby and especially in kicking, the consistency rule especially applies. The fact that you are competing in a team sport doesn’t mean that you will not be noticed as an individual contributing to the team effort. Your contribution as an individual may have stood out, or rather had a game changing impact you still need to put over the last conclusive kick to win the match for your team or relief pressure in tough games,or take your team forward with good place tactical kicking

If you look at the top 5 kickers now, all of them are fairly consistent and perform in every game with their kicks.

In this week there are a few movers and shakers on the table:

1.  Jacques Louis Potgieter move from 7 to 5

2.  Tom Taylor slips from 9 to 14

3.  Beauden Barrit slips from 10 to 13

4.  Jason Woodward moves up from 19 to 17
